Opharmic Technology (HK) Limited (formly Sonikure Technology (HK) Ltd) is a venture backed pre-clinical stage medical technology company with a patented innovative ultrasound mediated drug delivery technology.
With a vision to replace horrifying and resource-intensive eye injections for retinal diseases treatment affecting more than 300 million patients worldwide, Opharmic has developed a medical device effectively delivering drugs into the the eye at a gentle touch on the sclera. Furthermore, the company has developed technologies and devices for other ophthalmology applications such as cornea and ocular surface, aiming to serve the medical world as a holistic eye-care platform.
Opharmic was awarded the second place of the HKUST 1 Million Dollar Entrepreneurship competition 2014, winner of the TiE Hong Kong chapter entrepreneurship competition 2015, winner of the TiE Regional Asia competition in Delhi India 2015, top 8 teams in the Rice business plan competition 2015, Kairos' Society K50 - 2015 Global Top 50 Startups, the 2016 IET Innovation Award in the Healthcare category, and the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2017.
