The Knowledge Transfer at HKUST continues to develop by focusing on entrepreneurship education and training.
Friday Dreamers is a workshop series organized by the BASE and Entrepreneurship Center, aiming at spreading entrepreneurial spirit and cultivating youngsters’ interest towards startup. In 2017, there are 2 seminar series – “Why I Quit” and “Startup Funeral” that introduce startups from various perspectives.
This Entrepreneurship Week (E-week@HKUST) is a weeklong speaker series that aims to enrich students’ knowledge and preparedness for realizing their entrepreneurship initiatives. Inspired talks and interactive exhibition will let you gain some insights and learn how the entrepreneurs overcome the challenges and make their dreams come true.

Here we are – to help you attain all basic skills for turning your business model into reality, ranging from designing websites or apps for your company to taking photos of your own products. Startup Weekend, powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, is a 54-hour weekend entrepreneurial training program to form a team (Fri), work, learn, build a prototype (Sat), present your startup idea and network with entrepreneurs (Sun). As you learn how to CREATE A REAL THING & BUSINESS, you'll meet the very best mentors, investors, cofounders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started. Up to date, 23k+ teams have been formed in 150 countries in 2.9k+ Startup Weekends!
The BASE team
The BASE team, which are the “Student Entrepreneurial Community” supported by Entrepreneurship Center, aim to promote the Entrepreneurial and Innovative Culture at HKUST. These student communities organize entrepreneurial, creative, design and innovative activities regularly. Students also can join these student communities to explore the entrepreneurial world and to be trained by Entrepreneurship Center Staff in order to initiate & organize own entrepreneurial events.

HKUST Startups x Investors (SxI)
The HKUST Startups x Investors (SxI), pronounced as “Startups Investors Crossover,” is when the paths of HKUST Entrepreneurs and Investors cross. Such encounter leads to multiplicative explosion of possibilities.
The HKUST SxI provides an invaluable opportunity for HKUST entrepreneurs to engage directly with venture capitalists, corporate VCs, and angel investors. It will also serve as an exclusive networking and pitching platform to serve investor community, HKUST start-ups community, and the burgeoning innovation ecosystem at HKUST.
