Nansha Air Quality Monitoring Station
Developing and supporting the Nansha Air Quality Monitoring Station (NS AQMS), is one of the many efforts that the Air Research Center (ARC) and the Fok Ying Tong Research Institute (FYTRI) have put to support environmental protection and to advance the our understanding of air science. The AQMS is a collaboration between ARC/FYTRI and the Guangdong Environment Monitoring Center (GDEMC). It is one of the air quality monitoring stations of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao PRD Regional Air Quality Monitoring Network.
The NS AQMS is housed in the Fok Ying Tong Research Institute, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, at Nansha. It has been in operation since mid-2014. The station monitors the air quality (including the ambient concentration of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, PM2.5 and PM10) at Nansha with state-of-the-art air quality monitoring instruments following a set of quality control/quality assurance procedures and the data are reported almost at real-time online to the public.
